Because we are not tied to just one product or method, our only consideration is to provide a solution that solves your problem whether it is high-energy bills, cold drafty rooms, hot upstairs bedrooms, moldy smells, overheated attics, high humidity levels, or any other problem involving your homes comfort, air quality or efficiency.
Staff
Laura Zande
Co-founder,
President
Laura hails from Mansfield Ohio and graduated from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green Ohio. After a stint in the banking industry, Laura moved on to doing paralegal work in commercial real estate. After assisting in the development of several malls, office buildings and hotels she felt a strong pull to do something that would help protect the environment.
She happily landed a job at The Nature Conservancy where she worked her way up to Human Resource Manager for the entire Southeast region. In this position she really honed her “green” credentials. She loved being a part of a company that was effectively doing something to protect the natural beauty and resources of our planet.
After the birth of her second child, Laura decided her calling was to stay at home and devote her time to raising her two children. However, the urge to contribute to the greening of the earth never abated. Laura founded ProActive Energy Systems, Inc. with her husband Mike. Her love of nature drives her ambition to make ProActive Energy Systems into a company that effects positive change by helping homeowners do their part to reduce their carbon footprint and be better stewards of their own resources… one home at a time.
Mike Zande
Co-founder,
Vice President of Geeky Science Stuff
Mike was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Bowling Green State University but then, in an attempt to avoid “the real world” for as long as possible, went on to earn his Ph.D. Firmly ensconced in the real world for the past 22 years, he has had a very busy practice in psychology in the Raleigh area, been raising two children, attended numerous Indian princess functions, soccer games, swim meets, baseball games and on and on..
When his wife Laura approached him about starting ProActive Energy Systems, Inc. Mikes real interest was the science behind the approach. He read everything he could get his hands on, took classes and decided that Laura was really onto something. This approach really works and will actually save people money.
Mike now consults with customers when he is not seeing patients and totally loves spreading the word about a scientific approach to energy efficiency that really works like magic! Mike is a NC Licensed General Contractor with a specialty in insulation.
Pat Zande
Energy Consultant
Senior Wise Teacher
Pat is from Columbus Ohio and graduated from Notre Dame University. He remains a huge fan of the Fighting Irish. Pat has been a teacher of mathematics and a musician. When he learned about how Energy Barricade works he couldn’t wait to go out and teach others how they can save money, help the environment and be more comfortable.
While fitting his blackboard into his Prius Hybrid may be a little awkward, his presentations are truly a learning experience. He would love to visit your home and answer any questions you may have. Just remember to raise your hand and there will be a short quiz at the end. Call and ask for Pat today!
Robert Collins
Project Manager
Energy Consultant
Robert was born and raised in Raleigh, NC and a graduate of East Carolina University. After 11 very successful years in the wireless industry we were lucky that Robert decided he wanted to make a career move. More importantly, he wanted to explore a career path that would allow him to make more positive impact on the world.
Robert started on one of our install crews where he spent countless hours in attics and crawl spaces learning about building science and how to diagnose and repair energy efficiency issues. Robert is now a successful Project Manager and has become a valuable energy expert on the ProActive Energy Systems Team.
